From imperial palaces to grand boulevards, there’s more than enough to see and experience during a multi-day city trip.
The World capital of classical music
Every year on January 1st, the world tunes in to Vienna for the legendary New Year’s Concert at the Musikverein, a tradition that has been enchanting audiences for over a century. The timeless compositions of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Beethoven, and Bach are broadcast live in almost every country, cementing Vienna’s reputation as the capital of classical music.
But don’t be mistaken—Vienna is far from a sleepy, old-fashioned city. While it proudly preserves its classical heritage, it has also evolved into one of Europe’s most vibrant cultural capitals. Modern art and contemporary creativity thrive alongside historic elegance, proving that Vienna is a city where tradition and innovation go hand in hand.

There are several ways to reach Vienna, but flying remains the fastest option. Vienna International Airport (Flughafen Wien-Schwechat) is Austria’s largest and busiest airport, offering direct connections to major cities across Europe and beyond. Located just 18 km from the city center, the airport is well-connected by efficient public transport. The City Airport Train (CAT) takes you to the heart of Vienna in just 16 minutes, while regional trains and express buses provide convenient alternatives.
For a more eco-friendly journey, the Nightjet, operated by the Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB), offers comfortable overnight train services from various European cities, including Berlin, Paris, Rome, and Zurich.
